Drive North east of Addis to Debra Brehan then to Gemesa Gedel, best for the endemic Ankober serine;  and the Lammergeier, Rufus- breasted Sparrow hawk, Verreaux’s  Eagle, Steppe and Tawny Eagles, African white backed Vulture, White collared pigeon, Thick billed Raven, Wattled Ibis, Blue winged Gosse, Thekla and Erlanger’s Larks.  Abyssinian Long claw, Black-headed Siskin, African Citril, Long billed and Plain backed Pipits, Montagu’s and Pallid Harriers and a lot varsities are so expected. Day 03

Melka Jebdhu

An excursion to Ankober area and Melka Jebdhu, f or the endemic Yellow-throated serine.  In addition, other specialties like the Half-collared and Giant kingfishers, Yellow-breasted and Black-throated and Banded Barbets, Beautiful sunbird, shining and Scarlet sunbirds.  White bellied and Barefaced Go away birds, Black chested snake Eagle, Bruce’s Green pigeon, Crimsons winged waxbill , Bush and Yellow-throated Petronia, different weavers and a lot other species. low land of Awash National Park

Leave Debra Brehan for the low land of Awash National Park with an en rote birding. And the lowland of Awash National provides a great numbers of bird species like Martial and Imperial Eagles, Arabian Bustard, Rosy patched Shrike, Red wing bush Lark, Bearded wood Pecker, Grey wren warbler, Ashy Cisticola, Red and Yellow Barbet, Somali Golden breasted Bunting and Green winged Pytilia. O/n stay at Awash Falls lodge
Day 05

low land of Awash National Park

Full day bird watching and game viewing in the superb acacia wood land and the thorny bushes of Awash. It provides a great numbers of bird species like Martial and Imperial Eagles, Arabian Bustard, Rosy patched Shrike, Red wing bush Lark, Bearded wood Pecker, Grey wren warbler, Ashy Cisticola, Red and Yellow Barbet, Somali Golden breasted Bunting and Green winged Pytilia. Day 06

Lake Ziway

Leaving Awash for Lake Langano with en route birding in Lakes Koka and Ziway; and. Lake Ziway is one of the best birding sites of the Ethiopian Rift Valley, and it provides species like the Lesser Jacana, Common Snipe, Black Heron (the Umbrella bird), Black crowned Crane, Saddle billed Stork, different Kingfishers,, Great black-headed Gull and Lesser Moorhen. O/n stay at Lake Langano Resort
Day 07

Bale Mountains

Proceed to the Bale Mountains (2 nights at Goba); en route stopping at Dinsho, park headquarters, where we see the endemic mammals like the elegant Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck T with other specialties like the Abyssinian long eared owl, Wood owl, Abyssinian catbird, Abyssinian woodpecker and then, proceed to Goba. O/n stay at Goba Wabe Shebelle hotel
Day 08

Bale Mountains

Bale Mountain Sanattie plateau- Here, we expect birds like the Cinnamon- breasted Warbler, Mountain Buzzard, Abyssinian wood Pecker, White-backed black Tit, Bale Parisoma, Slender-billed Starling, Moor land & Chestnut Francolins,  African Snipe, Golden Eagle, Rufus Sparrow hawk, Watteled Crane, Rouget’s Rail and Lanner Falcon. Apart from the birds, Sanattie plateau also guarantees good supplies of the rare and beautiful Ethiopian Wolf.  Over night, stay at Goba Wabe Shebelle hotel
Day 09


Proceed to Negelle via Harenna Forest-. En route, we are looking for the rare and localized endemic species of Prince Ruspoli’s Turaco. Our day drive to Negelle brings us to great varieties of the low land species like Shelly’s & Golden-breasted Starlings. O/n stay at Negelle NOC Motel
Day 10


Negelle area- full days bid watching around Negelle area. The localized Sidamo Lark is our target bird for today. O/n stays at Negelle NOC Motel
Day 11


Drive to Yabello, via Melka Guba/Dawa River/ with many roadside stops. The Red-napped Shrike, Black caped Social Weaver, Lesser Kestrel, eastern violet backed Sunbird, the endemics White-tailed Swallow and Steersmen’s Bush Crow are one of the best birds we are looking for along this productive route. O/n stay at Yabello Motel
Day 12


Yabello area-full day is birding in the thorny bushes of Yabello area. It accommodates a great numbers of excellent birds. The Gray headed Social weavers, Banded Parisoma, D'Arnaud's Barbet, Abyssinian Scimitar bill, Black breasted Barbet, Shelly's and Golden breasted Starlings, Rufus Sparrow, Pale Flycatcher, Bare faced Go-away bird, and the endemic White tailed Swallow. Vulturine Geanifowl, Black caped social weavers, White crowned starlings, Orange bellied Parrot, Martial Eagle, Yellow Rumped Serine, Yellow necked spur foul, Red fronted Barbet and African Black headed Orioles are some of an excellent bind species. Day 13

Lake Awassa

Drive to Lake Awassa for the late afternoon birding; the white backed Duck, Western banded snake Eagle, Giant Kingfisher, Allen’s and Purple Gallinule and Blue headed Coucal are some of the species we are expecting in Awassa. Overnight stay at United Africa (Wabe Shebelle) hotel
Day 14

Wondo Genet

Wondo Genet forest-These forests are home to the endemic species like the beautiful Yellow- fronted Parrot, Abyssinian wood Pecker and Banded Barbet. Apart from the endemic species, the forests produce and excellent birds like Narina’s Trogon, African hill Babbler, Crowned Eagle, Broad-billed Roller, Half-collared Kingfisher, and Abyssinian Ground Thrush, Grey cuckoo Shrike, Lemon Dove and Double-toothed Barbet. Overnight stay at Wabe Shebelle hotel
Day 15


Pre breakfast birding in Wondogenet then drive back to Addis Ababa en route stopping at Cheleklaka lake/Debra Zeit/ evening fly back home
